While at the Georgia State Archives, I discovered two rich veins of genealogical gold!

1) The first was an abundance of Camp legal documents, wills and deeds, both microfilm of courthouse originals and copies, plus

2) a bound volume of the original source for nearly all modern research into our Camp/Kemp family heritage, "The CAMP Bulletin."

From the Camp legal documents, I learned much more about the relationships of Nathan Camp/Kemp's family while in Franklin County, GA and about his wife NANCY's family the Walters, which are often referred to as the Waters. The spelling issue over their name is the same as the Kemp/Camp discrepancy - it is the same with ALL other working class, pioneering families of 17th and 18th century Americans. In fact when my 'Uncle' Bob Wilkins and I were walking one small graveyard in Adamsville, TN, we found six different spellings etched in stone for our "Swiney" family members.

In the "The CAMP Bulletin," I discovered the seminal origins of the modern CAMP family annals. Although my time was limited and my choices for page copying was necessarily restricted for this visit, I had numerous epiphanies from what I read.

See significant materials from our The CAMP Bulletin webpage.

Below are many of the important CAMP legal documents at the Georgia State Archives, plus pertinent observations.
